The extracurricular place of learning

The Forschungsmuseum Schöningen is a unique place of learning where questions about the history of mankind are linked with questions about the future of mankind. Here, content relating to the Stone Age and the discovery of the Schöningen spears is directly related to the students' own lifeworld and provides impulses for reflection. In line with this approach and the curricula, the Schöningen Research Museum offers subject-related and interdisciplinary learning and experience opportunities with future-oriented skills acquisition for all types of schools.

School classes have the opportunity here to compare prehistoric and their own living environments and, in doing so, to deal with topics of education for sustainable development (ESD) on site.
